Elgar: Songs For Voice & Piano, Vol. 2

In 2008, Channel Classics, in cooperation with the Amsterdam-based Twentieth-Century Song Foundation, launched a project to record Elgar's complete Songs for voice and piano. The eloquent British soprano Amanda Roocroft and English baritone Konrad Jarnot, one of the most promising Lied singers of our time, perform a number of unknown Elgar songs. Partnered by the project's initiator, the Dutch pianist Reinild Mees, they are among today's finest champions of this rarely-heard song repertoire.
