Al Hirt Plays Bert Kaempfert; Latin in the Horn

Trumpeter and bandleader Al Hirt is best remembered for his album Honey in the Horn and for the theme song to The Green Hornet. Hirt posted twenty-two albums on the Billboard charts in the 1950s and 1960s, many of which showcase his traditional Louisiana jazz roots. Hirt's albums Honey In The Horn and Cotton Candy were both in the Top 10 best sellers for 1964. This release from Dutton pairs two of his albums from the late 60s on one disc. Latin in the Horn is easy-going Brazilian outing conducted and arranged by Lalo Schifrin. Hirt Plays Bert explores some of the top hits by the German orchestra leader and songwriter Bert Kaempfert, including "Strangers in the Night" and "Moon Over Naples."
